This week, China-UK Low Carbon College of Shanghai Jiao Tong University held a national executive training course on "climate change and low-carbon development". The course focused on the control of the emission of greenhouse gases and atmospheric pollutants, policies, and practices in developing low-carbon cities, the transition to a low carbon economy, the policies of the national carbon trading system, and the innovation of low-carbon technologies. The activity involved more than 60 government officials from 23 provinces and aimed to enhance the leadership of local governments in dealing with climate change issues.
