Dr. Xiaokun Gu is an Assistant Professor in School of Mechanical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Dr. Gu received his Ph.D degree focusing on Nanoscale Heat Transfer with Prof. Ronggui Yang in Mechanical Engineering from University of Colorado at Boulder in December 2016. Prior to that, he had a master’s degree in Engineering Thermophysics from Tsinghua University in 2011, and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Mechanics from the same university in 2008. His research interests are on understand the mechanisms of energy transport and conversion in novel materials, such as two-dimensional materials, organic-inorganic hybrid materials, thermoelectric materials and thermal insulation materials using efficient and effective modeling tools. In the meantime, he is interested in the applications of micro/nanotechnologies for energy conversion and thermal management.
